C.HeavenNezCreeKirby"Just call me  HeavenNezCree" if you were here, I’d offer you a mint julep, and a seat on the back veranda. I nearly did a cut and paste of my bio here, but decided that would be rather uncordial.  The whole purpose is for you to get to know who I am - in this moment. And quite simply, a paragraph written in third person would not convey the whimsy I'm feeling right now.  You came to visit, Let the introductions begin :)                UNSHAKABLEFOCUS ON MYEND GOAL. #PERSISTENCE the evolution of Heaven. ﷯am an Ohio native with roots in Rocky Mount, VA. Yes, that means I'm filled to the brim with Midwest kindness and Southern hospitality. Raised in the small suburb of Harrison Township, just north of Dayton, I am the daughter of educators who were both dedicated to the concept that knowledge is power. In fact, my father was my high school principal and it was my mother's love and command of language that opened me to the beauty of words. I received my B.A. in Radio/TV Communications from thee Central State University in Wilberforce, OH and following graduation moved to New York City to pound the proverbial pavement, be a modern day flower child and work in theater. After much trial, tears and error (and a whole host of life stories to be shared later) I was fortunate to connect with amazing people and was welcomed into the Angry Jellow Bubbles sketch show which toured internationally and played several shows nationally. Including a run at the Comedy Central Stage. Life then brought me to Los Angeles, where I've worked both as an artist and an educator. Some of my most fulfilling jobs outside of acting included the honor of directing arts education and youth mentoring programs in Ohio, New Jersey, New York City and Los Angeles. In addition to designing curriculum, I've mentored middle & high school students for over ten years, teaching Dance, Drama, Media Production & Poetry and producing and directing yearly performances. When my last project came to an end, I moved into my next chapter. Deciding to adopt a single focus and return to my roots as an artist brings me to where I am today. Creatively, I am finding my bliss in generating new writings, new pieces of artwork, new music, auditioning and working in film, television & new media. I am dedicated to being fully present in the moment. And, because I love an intellectual challenge, I am on the path to receiving my EMBA from Howard University. I’m on a mission to create uplifting, family friendly media that everyone can enjoy. Inspirational stories and media with a message are what hooked me as a child and I want those stories to continue to be told. As an actress, an artist, a woman and a woman of color, it’s of paramount importance that I be part of stories that explore my full humanity, the fullness of my femininity, my love and my full compassion for humanity.
